Before the baby comes home, the nursery looks perfect: the crib is made, the shelves are styled, and everything is in its place. Then the diapers, wipes, burp cloths, swaddles, tiny socks, and first toys arrive, and within a week, every flat surface is covered. Good nursery storage keeps that from happening, and it doesn’t have to look like a supply closet.

If you use a toy chest, choose one with no lid or a lid support that holds it open in any position.
